10 Days in Morocco itinerary (Compelet guide):


Arrival in Casablanca - Transfer to Rabat:

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Casablanca airport, your driver will greet you and begin your journey with a visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Africa and among the few open to non-Muslim visitors. The mosque is renowned for its impressive architecture and detailed craftsmanship and can accommodate up to 100,000 worshippers.

After exploring the mosque, stroll through the old Medina of Casablanca and later visit Morocco Mall, the largest shopping center in Africa.

In the afternoon, continue your journey to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, enjoying the scenery along the way. Once in Rabat, visit important landmarks such as Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret from the 12th century, the Kasbah of the Oudayas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Finally, transfer to your accommodation where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Rabat - Chefchaouen: 

After breakfast in Rabat, depart for the charming town of Chefchaouen, traveling through the scenic landscapes of the Rif Mountains.

Chefchaouen is famous for its white and blue-painted buildings and narrow alleyways. The town’s distinctive blue color dates back to Jewish refugees who settled here in the 1930s. Its peaceful setting against the mountains makes it one of Morocco’s most picturesque destinations.

Enjoy a guided tour through the medina, visit local craft shops, and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Later, stop by the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the town. Overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes:

After breakfast, travel through rolling hills toward the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in North Africa.

Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here you will visit the monumental Bab Mansour Gate, built during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. You will also explore the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, see the entrance of the Royal Palace, and visit Heri es-Souani, the massive royal granaries and stables.

Later in the afternoon, drive to Fes, where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Full Day Guided tour of Fes:

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full day exploring Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded in the 9th century.

Begin the tour with the impressive Royal Palace gates, followed by a panoramic view of the medina from a nearby viewpoint. Visit a traditional pottery workshop to see artisans creating Moroccan mosaics and tiles.

Continue to the famous tanneries, where leather is processed using traditional methods. You will also explore historical landmarks such as Bou Inania Madrasa, Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and Al Quaraouiyine University, the oldest university in the world.

Enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant in the medina before wandering through bustling markets selling spices, carpets, handicrafts, and other local products. Return to your riad for the night.

Day 5: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Merzouga:

Today you travel from Fes toward the Sahara Desert, passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Your first stop will be Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine-style architecture. Continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you may encounter the famous Barbary monkeys.

After passing through the mountain town of Midelt, enjoy stunning landscapes and views of nomadic shepherds along the route. Later you will drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and dramatic canyon scenery.

After passing Erfoud, known as the “Date Capital,” you will arrive in Merzouga. Here you will meet your camel guide and begin a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Stop to admire the sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp where you will enjoy dinner and traditional Berber music around the campfire.

Day 6: Explore Merzouga Desert Region:

Wake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes.

After breakfast, begin a full-day exploration of the Merzouga area. Visit nearby villages such as Hassi Lbeid and Tanamoust, and stop at Dayet Srij Lake, which is home to flamingos and other bird species.

Continue to Khamlia Village, where you will experience traditional Gnawa music, a cultural heritage rooted in African traditions.

Later, travel along part of the historic Paris–Dakar Rally route to visit nomadic families living in the desert. Return to your accommodation in the afternoon, where you may try activities such as quad biking or buggy rides. Overnight stay in Merzouga.

Day 7: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges: 

After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and enjoy views of the ever-changing colors of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Your first stop will be Rissani, where you can visit Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum and explore the traditional local market.

Continue toward Tinghir and the dramatic Todra Gorges, known for their towering cliffs and narrow canyon. Enjoy lunch in the area before continuing toward the Dades Valley.

Along the way, admire the unique rock formations known as “Monkey Fingers.” Arrive at your hotel in the Dades Valley for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Dades Valley - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech:

After breakfast, travel through the winding road of Tisadrine with spectacular views of the valley.

Continue to Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Rose City, famous for its annual Rose Festival and rose-based cosmetic products. Next, drive through Skoura, also called the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, and visit the historic Kasbah Amridil.

Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you will visit the film studios and Taourirt Kasbah.

Next, explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village featured in movies such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Later, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Full day Tour of Marrakech:

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most vibrant cities.

Visit the stunning Bahia Palace, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the beautiful Ben Youssef Madrasa. You will also see the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech.

Explore the lively souks, filled with handicrafts, spices, textiles, and souvenirs. Later, relax in the colorful Majorelle Garden.

End the day at the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where you can experience street performers, musicians, storytellers, and traditional Moroccan food stalls. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10: Transfer to the airport:

In the morning, you'll be transferred to the airport in Marrakech or Casablanca concluding your trip with amazing memories.
